"For over 25 years, I have had the honor and privilege of working with the ILAC Center in the Dominican Republic. This has occurred in a number of ways. I’ve had the honor to organize medical mission trips to the ILAC center twice a year for over 25 years. This has given me great spiritual satisfaction as it has allowed me to go the extra mile in trying to help those in need. I have also been able to work with ILAC as a member of the board, as well as with the ILAC Foundation. Both of these roles have allowed me to feel that I am part of being the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ in this world as we help others. I’ve also witnessed the gratefulness of the Dominican people. These are a humble and loving people who are so grateful for everything they have and so grateful for what we try to do for them. Every time we go to work at ILAC, we feel that we bring a lot to the community but in reality, we take so much more in the form of a real satisfaction in our hearts that we are doing God’s work here on Earth."

"Over the last 50 years ILAC has been the passion project of Ernesto F. Travieso S.J., together with an entire eco-system of dedicated and likewise passionate volunteers, staff and community members (local and from around the globe), they have made a significant and lasting impact on the underserved and underprivileged communities of the northern regions of the Dominican Republic. I count myself as a proud member of this unique and special institution and have had the privilege of serving as a volunteer of the ILAC Foundation Board and, wherever possible, donor to the Foundation, staff, and programs of the ILAC Mission. My sincerest wish would be to play a part in ensuring the sustainability of the critical work and impact of ILAC in these communities for the long term and am grateful to be a witness and great supporter of the amazing work being performed by people genuinely dedicated to Living as Men and Women for Others."
