Yerba Buena Aqueduct

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School students from Miami, Florida, in coordination with the ILAC Mission, began work last week on the intake, conduction lines and reserve tank for the construction of the Yerba Buena aqueduct. Sixty students, accompanied by other volunteers and professionals experienced in these projects, have been present among us with an incomparable spirit and an enthusiasm typical of youth.

Yerba Buena is a community in the mountainous regions to the west of San Jose de las Matas with a population of 250 families. The Yerba Buena community had an old aqueduct built for 70 families and it was already seriously deteriorated.

The ILAC Mission continues to monitor rural communities to analyze their most pressing concerns and thus seek to assist them in solving for their needs.
